The Assmann family began making metal buttons and medal decorations in the 18th century. Embracing technology as it was invented, the company became pioneers of heat sink technology in the 20th century. While the original company was known as Assmann & Sohne, by 1969 Assmann KG was established. Dieter Assmann started this company producing IDC connectors and IC sockets for flat cable applications. By the 1980s, the company evolved into Assmann Electronic GmbH and handled the heat sink and connectors. His sons were also involved with the company, developing another segment of the fast growing technology industry, computer and network peripherals. In the past and today, the company’s activities are related to industry, telecommunication, automotive and distribution. Assmann WSW Components offers products and services all around the electromechanical and thermal management.
